This might seem like a question with an obvious answer, but it is one that archeologists have puzzled for centuries and often missed the mark. This presentation will discuss one method of determining just how stone tools were used, use-wear analysis which involves looking at the surfaces of a tool to see how it was modified by being used. I will first cover a brief history of the technique before describing the process and then show a real world application of the method.
